Updates on My Current Positions, Upcoming Plans, and Potential New Interests
Lately, I’ve found it challenging to write detailed analyses. I’m confident in the stocks I own, but sometimes I struggle to add new insights from a coverage perspective.
I was writing about ITT 0.00%↑ , but then mid way through I came to the realization that I would much rather just keep holding onto CW 0.00%↑ .
Moving forward, I’ll be sharing smaller updates on the companies I cover and own, with the occasional full deep dive. These updates won’t always contain groundbreaking information, but they’ll provide a snapshot of what’s currently happening. I’m aiming to release an update on GE’s Q2 earnings within the next week or so.
I’m considering doing book reviews if there’s interest. I’m currently wrapping up the Six of Crows duology and planning to start 1776 next. Earlier this summer, I read Blind Man’s Bluff, and it was excellent.
In order to fund a purchase we had to trim or fully sell several stock positions. However, holdings in Sygnity and Moberg were kept. Over the past month and a half, we have gradually rebought some positions or opened call options.
Here’s what I currently own, excluding very small starter positions or tracking shares:
Moberg Pharma
Fairfax Financial
I had to sell most of my Fairfax shares, but I’ve been buying back with purchases at $1068 and $1100. I still own the few shares that I bought the day I turned 18.
I thought their earnings report was strong, but the overall market drop didn’t help. The stock has retracted a bit, and while some people don’t like the Sleep Country acquisition, I see it as a move to steady Fairfax's future income.
I’m a huge fan of GE. Unfortunately, I had to trim my position significantly, but I do hold a $155 call.
IGIC IGIC 0.00%↑
This is a smaller insurance company with a solid growth plan. It’s a relatively small position, but I own some shares and two January $15 calls, which I’ll probably excise.
TransDigm & Kraken Robotics TDG 0.00%↑
These are smaller positions, but I wanted to include them. Working in the A&D industry has taught me how valuable TransDigm’s moat is with proprietary parts—OEMs are a fantastic industry. My cost basis is $1207 per share.
Kraken is more speculative, and it won’t be a significant portion of my portfolio, but I’m optimistic about its potential in the defense sector. Their Seapower battery, especially with its links to Anduril, is interesting.
There are other tiny positions I’ve mentioned before, but they’re not large enough to discuss in detail.
Watchlist:
I watch a fair bit of companies, but ones with notable interest include TDY 0.00%↑ MSI 0.00%↑ PH 0.00%↑ ETN 0.00%↑ BKNG 0.00%↑ NEU 0.00%↑ HRB 0.00%↑ and AON 0.00%↑ .
